First Aid
- If swallowed, contact a doctor or Poisons Information Centre (13 11 26) immediately and show the container or label.
- In case of eye contact, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical advice.
- In case of skin contact, wash the affected area with soap and water.
- If inhaled, remove the person to fresh air and keep at rest.

Commonly asked questions
What is the main use of acetone?
Acetone is widely used in plastics and pharmaceutical manufacturing, as a nail-polish remover, a fibreglass and resin cleaner, and a stone/benchtop cleaner. If you have a specific application, get in touch and we will advise.
Is acetone the same as nail polish remover?
Yes — acetone is the active ingredient in most nail-polish removers. It is a strong remover and is often used to soak off SNS and shellac nails.
Is acetone the same as paint thinner?
No. They are different products. For thinning paint we stock epoxy, acrylic and all-purpose thinners — contact us if you are unsure which to use.
Do you stock anhydrous acetone?
No. Our acetone contains under 0.5% water, which is very pure and suits the vast majority of applications. True anhydrous acetone is costly and rarely required outside specific formulas.
